Village Tour (Anogia – Zoniana – Sfentoni)

Our fisrt stop is at Anogia Village. The living conditions of the people of Anogia, as well as those of other mountain villages in Crete, were extremely difficult. Anogians of old were mainly sheep herders, goat herders and farmers. The barren terrain, the unforgiving winters, along with the frequent revolts and the constant executions from the conquerors added up to primitive living conditions, to great poverty and the absense of even the most basic of comforts. However, Anogia has survived and is thriving, with the local community more united than ever, and they extend their hospitality to you.

We then move on to Zoniana village and the beautiful Sfentoni Cave! The cave is a spectacular full of stalactites and stalagmites!
