The Golf Course

The Crete Golf Club (located 25km from Heraklion) can be best described as a “desert-style” lay-out, with expansive fairways winding through rocks and ravines. The emphasis is on accuracy, although the landing areas are generous enough to accommodate all but the most errant shots.

With a par of 71 and a slope rating of 145, this 6377 yard gem boasts a course rating of 72. On the signature 6th hole the tee shot has to cross a deep ravine to reach a two-tier green cut into the foot of a hillside. A three will always be welcome, particularly as the 7th, a demanding, uphill 407-yard par-4, requires what is probably the hardest drive of the day. The course sets up nicely for a group tournament and they have 3 round packages to make it very attractive.

Golf Lessons – Golf Academy

The Golf Academy boasts a double-ended 300-yard covered driving range where visitors can hone their games, either individually or as part of an organized Golf School. The Academy also features a short game area, two practice putting greens and an indoor classroom complete with state-of-the-art video equipment. Crete Golf Club offers individual and group lessons, both for beginners and more experienced golfers. On-course lessons are also available. Golf professionals from around the world have hosted their own golf schools at this facility. Bring your own group for a clinic! This course also sets up nicely for a group tournament and they have a three round package for special pricing that makes it very attractive.
